India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been handed an official reprimand after breaching the ICC Code of Conduct.
Jasprit Bumrah has been given an official reprimand for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for an incident on the fourth day of India’s first Test against England in Hyderabad.
What was the incident
Jasprit Bumrah intentionally blocked Ollie Pope’s path as he attempted to run during the 81st over of England’s second innings, which resulted in unwanted physical contact.
Icc code of conduct
The ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, Article 2.12, on “inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other person (including a spectator during an International Match,” was found to have been violated by the pacer.

Given that it was jasprit Bumrah ‘s first offense in a 24-month period, his record now has one demerit point.
Jasprit Bumrah accepted the punishment
On-field umpires Paul Reiffel and Chris Gaffaney, third umpire Marais Erasmus, and fourth umpire Rohan Pandit all leveled the accusation.There was no need for a formal hearing because Bumrah entered a guilty plea and accepted the punishment imposed by Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.

An official reprimand is typically the minimum punishment for Level 1 violations, 50% of the player’s match fee is the maximum penalty, and one or two demerit points are the maximum.
